In the last post, Kid asked if I used reference for the faerie painting, and indeed I did, as I many times do, as I couldn't dream up a face as charming as my model. This young lady has been my model a number of times. This is an acrylic painting over carbon pencil lines and pastel on canvas, and I tend to densely overwork the details so that they ultimately seem photographic from a distance. Mixed media like this is not very archival, but the result is meant for reproduction, not to hang on a wall.
